The National Park Nera-Beusnita
The National Park Nera-Beusnita is protecting the most interesting natural rezervations, the longest karstic mountains from Roumania, the valley with waterfalls, Ochiul Beiului Lake, rare flowers, vegetations and fauna, beautifull landscape.
The Caras Gorges
The Caras Gorges (protected area) are an attractive place for the unique beauty of the landscape, the flora richness and the multitude of the caves with a great variety of formsand colours of stalactites and stalagmites.
The Comarnic Caves
One of the longest in the country 6000m, are declared as a caves rezervation, and prezents special scientific interes.The variety of the stalactites and stalogmites moulding in the underground empty space is impressive.
Lakes
All around the county there are a lot of natural and accumulation lakes, but you can also enjoy the nement lakes: Valiug, Trei Ape, Secu, Buhui, Marghitas, Dognecea, Oravita, Bocsa, some of them being lakes of legend: Ochiul Beiului, Lacul Dracului.
The Danube
A river wich has its springs in the Black Forest Mountain of Germany, crosses through Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Servia and enters Romania at Bazias of Caras-Severin County. Along 60 km this is the south border of the county. The Danube Strait is one of the most impressive of Europe and the world.
Museum of Esthetic Mineralogy
The collector C.Gruescu founded a precious Museum of Esthetic Mineralogy in his house from Ocna de Fier village. In the musem he collected special minerals, among them, are some unique samples in the world.
The Locomotives Museum-Resita
The first railway engine made in 1872 in Resita was displayed at the International Exhibition of Viena in 1873. The museum has displayed the most important models made over the years.
The Oravita Theatre
Built in 1817 in a Vienner barogne style, it is the oldest theatre in Romania. Nowadays, there is the county cultural Museum here, keeping among other values, the Book of Honour of this institution.
Chemist Museum
The oldest chemist's belonging to the Knoblauch family dates from 1796.
The railway of Oravita-Anina
Built between 1848-1864 is the first mountain raill way of the South-East Europe. On a lenght of 34 km, the traveller is impressed by: 14 a real railway building masterpiece. The high difference between the departure and arrival places is 339 m.
The water mills-Rudaria
Located in the Almaj Valley, they are the oldest ones on the Romanian territory.
Binis village
The ceramics tradition from Binis village is kept by master artist Ionica Stepan. This ceramics – reminding the Dacia ceramics – as its form – is known today in many countries of the world.
